Why does the Legenburg cable use a rectangular conductor with Mono-Crystal Pure Silver/Pure Copper conductor material? There are several elements for a good sounding cable: conductor material, insulation material, and the cable configuration. For the transmission of the current, a rectangular construction can virtually minimize the “skin effect” to zero.
When the conductor resistance rises, the high frequency signals tend to concentrate to the conductor’s surface-this is known as skin effect. Generally speaking, the stranded conductor consisting of very thin wires is considered to be good for reducing skin effect. However, when both the stranded and the solid-single wire conductors are compared, the rising curve of conductor resistance of the solid-single wire is subtler than stranded wires.
As far as reducing the skin effect; it is not only good enough to strand the think wire together but also to workout the construction of the conductor. That’s why Legenburg is using a rectangular conductor with the individual *Teflon FEP insulation construction, and state-of art conductor material Mono-Crystal Pure Silver/Copper to fully develop the best cable possible.
